Two Worlds, Four Winds

The North Herts–based Four Winds Saxophone Quartet bridges the European tradition the saxophone was born into and the new world of American jazz. Singelée’s pioneering quartet (one of the earliest pieces for sax quartet) is contrasted with the blues of Gershwin’s An American in Paris. Original works for saxophone quartet sit beside arrangements of much-loved classics, in a varied programme from this quartet whose passion for the sax shines through every note.
