Our competition to find Letchworth’s most talented young musician was an outstanding success with 26 students competing in early March at St Christopher School. The committee would like to thank the school for their tremendous support and help in this new venture, which was something of a learning curve. The judges were most impressed by the high standards and confidence of all the entrants. The winners of each of the four age categories performed on Wednesday 30^th April when the overall winner was chosen. 

Buoyed up by our success, we are planning to run a second competition this coming season, putting into practice some of the lessons we’ve learned. Our very good news is that the competition is being sponsored by Letchworth Garden City Heritage Foundation, for which we are extremely grateful. The not so good news is that we’re unable to return to St Christopher on this occasion and are currently searching for a venue. Once this is secured we’ll set dates, terms and conditions and publicise the event throughout the area. If you have a promising pupil between the ages of 12 and 18 years, watch this space!
